Championship Weekend Packages To Go On Sale

Championship Weekend Packages for the 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Greensboro will go on sale Friday, Sept. 13. The Championship Weekend Packages include all the Senior Championship Finals in each of the four disciplines -- ladies, men's, pairs and ice dance -- plus a ticket to the Skating Spectacular.

"The Championship Weekend Packages are some of the most popular ticket packages we sell," said Faryn Roy, Director of Operations for the 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. "Fans love attending the most popular competitive events, plus the Skating Spectacular. The Championship Weekend Package provides all of this in one convenient and economical package."

Based on the experience of the 2011 U.S. Championships in Greensboro where the final weekend of competitive events did experience sell-out crowds, fans are encouraged to get their orders in early to get the best seats.

Order forms will be available on the North Carolina 2015 website, beginning Tuesday, September 3rd.

Indian Trail to Host 2014 South Atlantic Regionals

The Carolinas Figure Skating Club, home of our 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships Honorary Chairman Paul Wylie, is hosting the U.S. Figure Skating South Atlantic Regional Championships Oct. 19-22. This promises to be the biggest figure skating event in the Carolinas this year, with over 350 skaters expected to participate.

The competition will be held at the Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, N.C. This outstanding two-rink facility hosts many top-tier ice sport championship events, including the State Games of North Carolina Figure Skating and the USA Hockey Youth National Championships earlier this year.

South Atlantics will be directed by Jen Hocter, who ably directed the State Games of North Carolina competition in June. The combination of the highly regarded Carolinas Figure Skating Club, together with talented Extreme Ice managers, such as director of figure skating Danielle Logano, make for a powerful and experienced hosting team for the event.

indian-trailSouth Atlantics are one of nine U.S. Figure Skating regional championships that serve as key qualifiers for participation in the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Boston. Skaters who qualify at regionals move on to one of three sectional championships. The top four skaters in each sectional qualify for the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Boston.
