Paul Wylie Serves Another Term as Honorary Chairman

paulwCharlotte resident and Olympic silver medalist Paul Wylie, who served as Honorary Chairman of the 2011 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Greensboro, has graciously agreed to "re-up" for another term.

"For North Carolina to land the U.S. Championships again so soon after the 2011 event is an impressive accomplishment, and testimony to the great job that Greensboro and North Carolina did in hosting the Championships the first time," Wylie said. "With that kind of track record, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try to deliver an even better experience for the athletes, U.S. Figure Skating and the community in 2015."

Wylie, who has undergraduate and graduate business school degrees from Harvard, first came to North Carolina with the Billy Graham ministry. He currently coaches at Extreme Ice in Indian Trail, NC, home of the Carolinas Figure Skating Club. He also performs in special televised skating events and coaches at camps and clinics around the country. A motivational speaker, Wylie has served as the emcee for the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Inductions and as keynote speaker for the National Association of Sports Commissions.

"Paul Wylie is well-respected among the U.S. Figure Skating family, and internationally, too," said Hill Carrow, chairman of North Carolina 2015, local organizing committee for the 2015 U.S. Championships. "We could not ask for a better ambassador for the sport and our state. We are honored and delighted that Paul has agreed to serve again, and we look forward to working together with him to top our 2011 accomplishments."
