New Year's Resolution:
Purchase U.S. Championships Tickets ASAP

tickets-blue-newLogoThat's right: we're under 20 days to go to the 2015 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and it's time to take a quick break during the holidays to go online now to secure your tickets to the best competition and entertainment on ice, and the biggest Olympic winter sport championships in the country.

Even though there are less than three weeks to the big event, there is still time to get good seats. Thanks to the release of some sponsor holds, a number of prime seats for all sessions have become available as well as six front row All-Event Packages! Front row packages have been sold out for a year and a half, so these seats won't be available long. Act now to sit right next to the ice!

In addition, your host committee and U.S. Figure Skating are continuing our holiday special, where you can receive a 25 percent discount on your purchase of individual tickets to any of the eight sessions on Championship Weekend, Friday, January 23 to Sunday, January 25, 2015.

samantha-cesario2 Samantha Cesario, a member of Team USA, together with U.S. Figure Skating representatives, was in Greensboro on December 17 to mark one-month-to-go to the 2015 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The day prior Samantha was at Lowes Foods' Preston Corners location for an in-store appearance. Lowes Foods is the Official Grocery Sponsor of 2015 U.S. Championships.

During the afternoon, U.S. Figure Skating held a SkateFest (free public skate) at the WFMY Winterfest Rink in downtown Greensboro. Samantha visited with fans, signed autographs, and even took a turn on the ice herself, all the while talking up the U.S. Championships and encouraging the large number of attendees to buy their tickets now for the sports experience of a lifetime.

Final U.S. Figure Skating Site Visit Goes Smoothly

bob-dunlap2Greensboro and North Carolina have hosted the U.S. Figure Skating Championships before-only four years ago in 2011. Nevertheless, U.S. Figure Skating executives are leaving nothing to chance. With that in mind senior U.S. Figure Skating and NBC executives descended on central North Carolina for an intensive two-day final site visit, December 15 - 17. Participating in the site visit were Bob Dunlop, Kevin Leonardo, Renee Felton, Mia Corsini and Lindsay McAllister, for U.S. Figure Skating, while Rob Dustin, Bill Brennan and other NBC representatives also took part in the review.

"We feel good about the way things stand at this point, " said Bob Dunlop, U.S Figure Skating's senior events director. "It will only be a matter of days before we are back in Greensboro for this event. Final details are falling into place and we are looking forward to another great U.S. championships in Greensboro next month."

Ryan Bradley Featured at Annual Symphony Holiday Concert

ryan-bradley2It was a bit of déjà vu for former U.S. men's champion Ryan Bradley, as he stepped onto the ice on Sunday, December 14, to prepare for that evening's Holiday Concert performance with the Greensboro Symphony and skaters from the local Summit Figure Skating Club. This was the first time Bradley had been back in the Greensboro Coliseum, the venue that was the site of one of his greatest skating triumphs at the 2011 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

"This facility and city will always be special to me, " said Bradley as he admired the numerous renovations to the venue that have taken place since 2011. Bradley, who has been on a recent whirlwind tour doing national and international performances and appearances, said, "I'm planning to be back next month at the Championships where I can relax a bit and enjoy catching up with my many skating friends. I encourage everyone to come and join me as spectators for what promises to be another outstanding U.S. Championships."

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Figure Skating

skating-everywhereTis the season of holly, mistletoe and all things skating! Thanks to the team at the Greensboro Department of Transportation, roadway signs that will guide travelers to the U.S. Championships have recently appeared along major thoroughfares. In addition, with the help of Fairway Outdoor, large billboards promoting the 2015 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships have also sprouted all over the region. People are noticing: "Seems like figure skating is everywhere right now," said a local fan from Winston-Salem. "I'm sure it is a wake up call for those who haven't purchased their tickets yet. It's time to get on it!"
