Southern Grand Prix Series

The Southern Grand Prix Series is a new competition circuit that includes events hosted by figure skating clubs in North Carolina and South Carolina. Tying together these events, some of which have been conducted for a decade or more, is the brainchild of 2015 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships Ambassador Scott Cudmore. Cudmore, who is the head figure skating professional for Polar Ice of Raleigh and serves as coach and President of Triangle Figure Skating Club, said, "The Southern Grand Prix takes cooperation among our various Carolinas figure skating clubs to a new level, while providing strong competition events for Carolinas-based skaters. We have long discussed a state or multi-state regional association among our figure skating clubs, and the Grand Prix is giving us a major vehicle to test the ability of our clubs to work together on a common cause-the first step toward such an association."
